5 points for making meta title

  1. Include keyword
  2. Build consistency into the page content
  3. Include site or company name
  4. Make a different one from any other pages
  5. 60 or less characters for one-byte character

1. Include keyword

If your target keyword for the page is "web analytics tool", include "web analytics tool" into that page title. When search engine crawls your page, it understands that page is about web analytics tool if that word is included in the meta title.

2. Build consistency into the page content

Meta title and page content must be consistent. Not only human but also web crawler can notice the difference if they are not consistent, and downgrades the assessment of the page.

3. Include site or company name

Site or company name should be included like "web analytics tool | ABC Corporation" because it helps people to recognize that this is a ABC Corporation's website in SERP (Search Engine Result Page).

4. Make a different one from any other pages

Do not make the same meta title with any other pages. The meta title should be unique because there should not be the same page among your web pages.

5. 60 or less characters for one-byte character

It depends on browser or device. But generally you can see about 60 characters (30 characters for two-byte character) at a maximum for meta title in SERP. If there are more than 60 characters, those characters will be displayed as "...".
